Commissioning Pitt Community College Buildings to Meet Standards

Wooten's in-house Commissioning Team helped Pitt Community College buildings comply with requirements of State Bill 668.

Academic Classroom

Our in-house Commissioning Team performed commissioning for the Academic Classroom Building at Pitt Community College located in Winterville, NC. The 60,000 s.f. three story complex contains offices and classrooms, and utilizes a variable volume HVAC system, gas fired boilers and air cooled chiller for building conditioning. All systems consuming energy or water were included in the commissioning scope, and the commissioning activities were conducted at equivalent levels of LEED enhanced commissioning to meet the requirements of State Bill 668.

Lighting, plumbing and mechanical systems was included in the commissioning, as well as off season performance testing and performance verification in accordance with the State law. The process also included design and submittal reviews at schematic design, detailed design and construction documents phases.

Industrial Complex


Our Building Systems Group's in-house Commissioning team performed commissioning for the Construction and Industrial Technology Building at Pitt Community College at equivalent levels of LEED enhanced commissioning to meet the requirements of State Bill 668.

The ~45,000 s.f. Construction and Industrial Technology Building contains several garage bays for the automotive repair curriculum. In addition there exists an extensive woodworking shop with a dust collection system, and the building utilizes air cooled chiller, and zoned constant volume and variable volume air handlers for conditioning the occupied spaces. Lighting, plumbing, mechanical systems and process systems were included in commissioning, as well as off season performance testing and performance verification in coordination with the State Construction Office and accordance with the State law. Commissioning also included design and submittal reviews at schematic design, detailed design and construction documents phases. Commissioning was conducted at equivalent levels of LEED enhanced commissioning.
